Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to join our team. In this vital role, you will provide essential assistance to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, or other health conditions. Your efforts will help promote independence, safety, and well-being while supporting each individual’s unique goals and preferences.

Responsibilities May Include:

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
Monitor residents’ health by observing vital signs, administering medication, and reporting changes to healthcare professionals.
Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management in accordance with care plans.
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, including heavy lifting techniques and proper use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts.
Document care activities accurately while respecting privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Engage residents in social activities and community outings to foster socialization and independence.
Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas to ensure a hygienic living environment.

Qualifications

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health care settings is helpful.
Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is required as are other county mandated trainings, but can be obtained through Life Center after acceptance of job offer.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory impairments.
Strong communication skills combined with patience, empathy, and a respectful attitude towards residents’ needs.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality in healthcare settings.
Be at least 18 years of age.
Possess a valid Michigan Driver License in good standing.
Possess valid auto insurance and reliable transportation.
